Abel Sanchez

Abel Sanchez was born in Pueblo Colorado on August 7, 1951. Abel passed away peacefully at his home in Northglenn Colorado on July 18, 2023, at the age of 71.

He grew up in Craig Colorado and attended Moffat County High School. Abel moved to Denver Colorado at the age of 18 where he met and married Gloria Lopez. He worked for Keebler Company for over 20 years before retiring.

Abel was a loving brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He spent his life working hard and supporting his family. He always put others first and was a father figure for many people in his life. He loved to fish, gamble, bowl, play pool, watch westerns, and spend time with his grandchildren. Abel was also very involved in the church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Gloria; daughters Angela Sanchez Almanza and Diana Winship; grandchildren Gabino Almanza, Angelo Almanza, Abrianna Winship, and Tyler Winship; siblings Michael V. Sanchez, John David Sanchez, and Virginia Sanchez; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Jennie Sanchez, sister Janice Delores Archuleta, and brother Sam Sanchez.

Funeral services will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Monday, August 7, 2023. The rosary will start at 10:30 am followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. After the Mass there will be refreshments in the reception hall. The burial service will begin at 3:00 pm at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
