Ada Frances Simpson, ""Fran,"" recently of Windsor, Colorado, passed away on January 12, 2016. Fran was a woman of admirable strength, very outgoing, friendly and caring. Fran was taught and lived good old fashioned values and was known for her huge heart and generous nature. Born in the town of Mountain View, Oklahoma on May 23, 1930, Fran was daughter to the late Leslie ""Buck"" and late Daisy (Ward) Neal. She attended school in Oklahoma and California and graduated from Cloud Chief High School in 1948 as Salutatorian. Fran attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. On Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1948, Fran married Gene Simpson in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. In 1949 Fran and Gene moved to New Mexico and lived in Field, Portales and Las Cruces. During these years their three children were born. In 1957, Gene was promoted and the family moved to Denver. Fran traveled throughout the world with Gene during his years with Western Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company. As a family, the Simpsons enjoyed camping in the mountains, traveling and sharing experiences with many wonderful family members and friends. In 1984, Fran and Gene made their home on the Cache le Poudre River near Windsor, Colorado, where they purchased a ranch and raised cattle. Fran will be remembered and appreciated for her many charitable deeds everywhere she lived. She was a volunteer fire fighter in Parker, Colorado and served in various leadership and volunteer capacities in the Methodist Church, Questors, Meals on Wheels and Mile High Miniatures. Her love for others extended into the hearts of people as she spent time with the elderly, visiting them in nursing homes or the confines of their own homes. Fran's hobbies included sewing, junking, baking, gardening, cooking and she had numerous interesting collections that included antique dolls, doll buggies, Raggedy Ann's, bears and wonderful decorations for every holiday. Their children helped Fran and Gene celebrate their 50th anniversary in 1998 with a large party and for Christmas that year, the entire family shared a trip to Kauai. A devoted wife, Fran cared for her husband with Alzheimer's Disease for many years. She also cared for her ailing mother in her last years. Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gene, son Bob, parents, brother-Bill and nephew-Lonnie. In addition to her husband, 2 children and their spouses and daughter-in-law survive her: Glynda (Simpson) Rupp and her husband Ken; Peggy (Simpson) Anderson and her husband Weyland; Daughter-in-law Susie; four grandchildren: Kelly, Jennifer, Carisa and Wesley; two great grandchildren, Troy and Molly, niece Carolyn. Fran's kind heart, bravery and generosity were an inspiration to many and she will be dearly missed. A celebration of Fran's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 503 Walnut, Windsor, Colorado.
