Adele Sylvia Basquin McCord
Adele passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024, just one day after celebrating Mother's Day and one day before her 91st birthday. For the great majority of her many years, Adele led an active and healthy life. In her last six months on earth, her body grew weary and her heart grew weak.
Adele (affectionately known as "Nana" to many) was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard ("Dick") McCord. Adele is forever remembered and survived by her son, Daniel, and his wife Nancy, who live in Golden, Colorado; daughter, Kathryn Beck and her husband, David, who live in Columbine Valley, Colorado; by three grandsons, Kevin Beck (Jenn Beck) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Kyle Beck (Natalie Beck) of Tarzana, California; and Bryan McCord of Lakewood, Colorado. Nana is also survived by two great grandchildren, Grayson Dozier Beck (age 10) and Naomi Kathryn Beck (age 16 months). Adele is survived by her brother Paul Basquin (age 97, of Roseville, Minnesota) and sister Neva Zaspel (age 94, of Leesburg, Florida). Adele's brother Harold Basquin preceded her in death when he was a young man.
Adele loved God and her family with a very big heart. Nana shared her love of music, theater, playing tennis, cheering at all sporting events, and her great fashion sense with all of us. She was an active volunteer; loved to knit and do needlework; talk politics; make jigsaw puzzles and play board games. Nana was our reliable compass, earnestly and lovingly pointing the way forward, and she was always at the center of fun. We will miss her loving presence each and every day.
Celebration of Life Friday, June 14, 2024, 11:00 am, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO, 80227.
