Adeline Hattie Krohnfeldt

April 20, 1925 — October 17, 2018

Adeline Hattie Krohnfeldt, age 93, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at ViewPointe Senior Living in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Adeline was born on April 20, 1925 to Anna Zarbock and Frederick Hartfiel in their farm home near Parkers Prairie, MN. She was raised on the family farm with her brother Herbert and two sisters, Hertha and Della. She met Reuben Emil Krohnfeldt at their local church and were joined in marriage on June 21, 1945. They began life on a rented farm where their two sons Les and David were born. In 1951 they stopped farming and moved into the town of Parkers Prairie where their daughter Donna was born and where they remained for the next 12 years. In 1964 they relocated to Long Prairie, MN for a short time before moving to Lakewood, CO in 1967 where they remained for the next 36 years. During this season they owned and managed a ServiceMaster franchise which they operated out of their home office. In addition to her homemaker duties, Adeline was the administrator and accountant for their business. They sold the business in 1988. Their retirement years included many fun trips, including Germany and working for Laborer's for Christ which engaged retirees to build churches across the country. In 2003 they moved to Colorado Springs. After battling cancer and dementia, Reuben passed in December 2004. Adeline remained independent and active, but in 2010, with support of family, she moved to her residence in ViewPointe where she remained for the last eight years. The spiritual, social and health support she received provided for making dear friends and engaging mostly in sewing, much in support of missions, baking her infamous loaves of banana bread and playing cards.

She also was able to enjoy many active years with, and is survived by, her 3 children Les (Cindy), Dave (Mary) and Donna (Jerry), her grandchildren, Mark (Jennifer), Chris (Karey), Eric (Jiyon), Chris, Stephen (Melissa), and Dustin (Jody) as well as her great grandchildren, Aylin, Mike, Grady, Cara, Caius, Caxton, Landen, Logen, and Tgen, who were recently joined by step-grandchildren Preston and Carter.

In fond memory, the family extends its eternal gratitude to the leadership and staff of ViewPointe Senior Living and the caregivers from New Century Hospice.
