Adeline Helen (Demboski) Shimonkevitz passed away on February 5, 2021 at Waters Edge in Bradenton, Florida.  Born August 19, 1924 in Dickson City PA to Anna (Filips) and Walter Demboski, she was raised by her aunt and uncle Della and Dan Abel in Moscow, PA until she was 10 years old.  Returning to her parents in Dickson City, she graduated from Dickson City High School in 1942.

She married 1st Lieutenant William (Bill) Shimonkevitz on May 30, 1945 in Dickson City.  As an Air Force wife married to a career officer, she enjoyed the various places Bill's assignments took them (Germany, Nebraska, Florida, Newfoundland, again Nebraska, Alabama, Virginia, Germany again, Bethlehem PA).  She enjoyed travelling while they were stationed in Germany, especially to Spain and Greece.  She was active in the Officers Wives Club's and as a friend and advisor to many of the wives of Bill's aircraft crew and flight members.  After Bill's retirement they moved in 1995 to Denver, Colorado where she and Bill could provide care for their daughter Ruth.

With Bill she had three children, Ruth, Susan (Kent Boyer, deceased, and Corby Decker) and Richard (Christa Rheindt).  She was blessed with grandchildren, Steve (Abbey), Dave (Meghan) Julie (Micheal), Lisa (Shane), Christian (Tricia) and Kayla (Jay).  Eight great-grandchildren delighted her, Allie, Kylie, Carson, Jackson, Graham, Dallas, Finley and Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill (2005), her daughter Ruth (2017) and her grandson Christian (2020).

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd in Denver. Private interment will be with her husband Bill in Fort Logan.
