Agnes (Aggie) Riddle, 76, of Lakewood Colorado passed away Tuesday February 21, 2023. Aggie was born July 31, 1946, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Bernice and Anthony Bobitsky and grew up in Colorado. She met Forrest (Frank) Riddle in the summer of 1962 after being set up on a blind date. Only later did they figure out they both worked at Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver. They were married on August 20, 1965. Throughout Aggie’s career she worked as a phone operator, cleaned houses, and worked customer service at her brother’s grocery store in addition to raising her two children.
While Aggie and Frank were dating and throughout their marriage they loved to go out. Some of the things they loved to do were: going to the movies, honky tonk dancing (especially on New Year’s Eve), baseball games, traveling, playing cards (especially progressive rummy), Colorado Flames Hockey games, the stock show, going to the Beaver Brook Lodge (which is where they spent their honeymoon), tubing, pheasant hunting, boating with Helen and Clayton (Frank’s Aunt and Uncle), and spending time with family and friends, especially Dutch and Donna.
Aggie’s family was her pride and joy and some of her favorite things to do were spending time with her children and grandchildren. She supported her children in whatever adventure they wanted to try growing up and loved watching her grandchildren grow up. She loved watching her granddaughters play softball and her grandsons play football and rugby. You could catch her smiling and laughing at all the water balloons that they threw at each other over the years as the water balloon fights got more competitive.
Aggie’s two favorite holidays were Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day. During the holiday’s she enjoyed going to zoo lights and driving around and looking at holiday lights around town. St. Patrick’s Day she loved making corn beef and cabbage (and never ate the cabbage but insisted on cooking it with the cabbage) and making “Green” cake. She also loved flowers and her flower beds could always be seen with many arrays of flower’s especially roses as those were here favorite. In addition to her many loves she had a love for her sweets, and her favorite was Cotton Candy which was the booth she worked at while working at Lakeside Amusement Park.
Aggie is survived by her two children Stacy (Todd) Palmer and John (Jennifer) Riddle; four grandchildren Brennen, Preston, Tayler, and Adrianna; three siblings Patty (Doc), Steve (Francine), Eddie (Janey); and one sibling preceded in death Bob (Angie).
