Agnes Domenico

December 13, 1931 — August 11, 2021

Welby

Agnes Domenico, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2021.

She is survived by her twelve children Joe (Renee) Domenico, Rosemary (Jerry) Marchese, Natalie (James) Clancy, Nancy (Daniel) Cancino, Jane (Gregory) Lauricella, Theresa (Stony) Shelton, Philip (Nancy), Jack (Lori), Victor (Monica), Rocco (Heather), Gregory (Theresa) and Rocco Joe (Toni) Domenico; Sister of Rose Winburn, Benedict Porreco; 42 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and son Mark.

Agnes was born to Joseph and Della Porreco on December 13, 1931, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Denver. She was the fifth in age to six siblings; Rose, Alfred, Madeline, Betty, Benedict and Tommy.

Agnes attended Assumption Catholic School in Welby graduating in 1947. She continued on to Loretto Heights College, graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry. Agnes went on to become a Medical Technologist and worked in the research department at Colorado General Hospital (University Hospital) until the birth of her children.

She married the love of her life, Raymond Domenico, on February 28, 1954. They raised thirteen children together in the Welby area. The focus of her life was always prayers and hard work. Her favorite saying was “Offer it up for the poor souls in Purgatory.”

Agnes and Raymond were truck farmers and her summers were filled with working alongside her children and managing groups of countless other young people as they bunched radishes in the fields along the Platte River.

Agnes loved music and taught herself how to play the piano. She then went on to become an organist at church, and loved playing music for people celebrating the happy and sad times of their lives. She thoroughly enjoyed playing the organ for Sunday Mass at Assumption Catholic Church for 50 years.

Agnes loved traveling, especially going to Europe, Egypt, Medjugorje, and the Holy Land. She especially enjoyed her trip to Italy playing the organ for the church choir, and the Mediterranean Cruise she took with her sister, Rose. One of her most memorable trips was the one she took to New York City with her five daughters to celebrate Theresa’s 50th birthday.

Her hobbies were working the daily crossword puzzles and putting together the jigsaw puzzles that were continually on her kitchen counter.

Her greatest loves were her thirteen children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the many family get-togethers that were a part of her everyday life.

Amor di madre, amore senza limiti ……A Mother’s love is a love without limits.
