Alan E. Hatfield was born August 21, 1920 in Galveston Texas and passed away March 29, 2010 in Lakewood Colorado at the age of 89. Alan is predeceased by his wife Evelyn L. Nunn Hatfield (2006). Alan is survived by son John Hatfield, daughters Jean Wright and Judy Hatfield-Mihelic; daughter and son in-laws Jean Hatfield, Bill Wright, Art Hatfield-Mihelic; grandchildren Jennifer and Matthew Wright, Joel and Julianne Hatfield and Jeremy Hatfield. At Alanïéé½s request there will be no services. In loving memory of Mr. Alan Hatfield, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the - Lone Star Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 8620 North New Braunfels, Ste 110, San Antonio, TX 78217 or Shrinerïéé½s Hospital in care of El Jebel Temple 4625 West 50th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80212. Please include a note that the donation is being made ïéé½In memory of Alan Hatfieldïéé½. Alan attended schools in St Louis Missouri and Columbus Ohio, and Denver University. He served in the Army in WW II. Alan married Evelyn Nunn on January 23, 1944 in Denver. He worked as a Denver motorcycle Policeman and a Denver Detective. Alan retired from the Department of Highways after 22 years as an Assistant Highway Engineer in 1977. Alan and Evelyn were active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Golden Sheaf Chapter #111. They were also active with their children in the Masonic youth groups; The Order of DeMolay and Jobs Daughterïéé½s Bethel #1. Evelyn was the Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star and Guardian of Bethel #1. Alanïéé½s hobbies included being a Ham Radio Operator, fishing, reading Westerns and watching John Wayne movies. Alan began his Masonic career by receiving his Degrees in Harmony Lodge No. 61 in 1952. He served as Master of Harmony Lodge in 1960 and was President of the Masonic Service Association in 1960. He served as Lodge Secretary from 1961 through 1965 and from 1986 to 1991. Alan was a Charter Master of Memorial Lodge No. 1 in 1961. Alan also served as: Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Cryptic Masons 2000-2001; Excellent High Priest of Colorado Chapter No. 29, R.A.M., in 1995-1996; Thrice Illustrious Master of Gaines Greene Council No. 25 in 1993-1994; Council Recorder 1994-2001; Eminent Commander of Coronal-Ascalon Commandery No. 31 in 1994-1995; Master of Denver Consistory of the Scottish Rite in 1994; and Chairman of the Make-up Committee from 1960-1997; Member Knights of the York Cross of Honor; Knight Templar. Alan was a member of the El Jebel Shrine German Band and Ham Radio club. He served as President of the band in 1970 and President of Radops in 1973 and 1998.
