Alan James Hess

Alan J. Hess, 82, passed away October 5, 2009. He was born July 11, 1927 in Iowa City, Iowa to Mark James Hess and Mildred Schump Hess. Beloved husband of Veronica; devoted father of Carolyn Hess (Don Herzog), Diana L. (Ross) Leher and Steven J. (Stacey) Hess; grandfather of Robyn Levy, Melanie Weitzenfeld, Mindy Leher, Mark Leher, Victoria Hess, Kristina Johnson; great grandfather of Ian and Mason Levy, Tyler and Jonah Weitzenfeld; and brother of Marian Thomas, Roger Hess. He was also survived by Veronica's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurita. Memorial service Friday, October 9, 2:00 pm at Wasser Chapel in University Park United Methodist Church, 2180 S. University Blvd., Denver. Private burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
