Albert Leroy Gunther

Albert Leroy Gunther, 81, passed away Thursday September 10, 2015. He was born February 1, 1934 in Wardell, Missouri to Audie and Sadie Gunther. Albert is survived by: wife, Mary Gunther. Daughters Peggy McKernan (Todd McKernan), Debra Anderson (Wayland Anderson) and Cathy Medina(Leo Medina). Sisters: Sharon Jones, Phyllis Gunther, Carolyn Leverett and Connie Davis. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He also has twenty-six nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Audie and Sadie Gunther and siblings, Catherine, Charles, Harold and family, Billy, John and Ronnie Gunther. A memorial will be held at Elmwood Baptist Church 13100 E. 144th Ave, Brighton, Co. 80601, on Saturday September 26, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Reception will follow the memorial. Interment will be at Ft. Logan national cemetery at a later date. Albert served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed out of Lowry Air Force Base. It was during his service in Denver that he met his wife of 61 years, Mary. Upon completion of military service he was an independent truck driver. Albert was involved in the Blind Veterans Association and enjoyed teaching woodworking classes to the children in his community. Albert loved The Lord and had a great sense of humor.
