Albert ""Al"" Buford Haltom

Albert “Al” Buford Haltom passed away on December 26, 2019 at home in Englewood, CO at the age of 83. Al was born in McAllen, TX on July 12th, 1936 to William and Lila Haltom. Al is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Betty Ann, his daughter Donna (Paul) Cruz of Ft. Collins, CO, son Donald of Englewood, CO and son Daniel (Alli) Haltom of Morrison, CO. He was preceded in death by their son Clinton, next to whom he will be laid to rest. Al is also survived by six grandchildren; Ryan Haltom, Michael Haltom, Fauna Haltom, Amanda Cruz, Adam Cruz and Lainey Haltom as well as four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Johnson and brother, Dale Haltom as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family. A hardworking man all his life who chose the drywall trade for his profession, he was widely regarded as one of the best in the business. His passion was fishing and spending time in the mountains, but he had many other interests including country dancing, listening to live music, perusing estate sales, playing Rummy and reading (and re-reading) Louis L’Amour western novels. But more than anything, Al loved spending time with his cherished wife of 64 years, Betty, and their children whenever possible. Al was known for always greeting folks with a smile and a quirky joke. His infectious laugh and warm spirit never failed to fill a room. He was loved by many and will be truly missed. The visitation will be held at 10am on Friday, January 3 followed by a service at 11am and then a reception at Horan and McConaty: 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood, CO. Everyone who wishes to say goodbye to Al is welcome. The graveside burial service will be held after the reception for those who wish to attend.
