Albert A. Jonke, age 71, a resident of Denver, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013. Albert was born in Ran, Yugoslavia on June 24, 1942. Albert immigrated to the United States from Austria in 1952 with his parents and two brothers and sister at the time. The Jonke family settled in Denver where Albert went to school and spent family time outdoors camping and fishing throughout the state. Albert eventually began a career in the construction business and at one time owned his own company. After retirement Albert became a car enthusiast and began a hobby of building and showing hotrods. In recent years Albert could be found tinkering on a car or motorcycle and visiting with his numerous Hotrod buddies in his garage or participating in one of the various car shows around the metro area. Albert is survived by his mother, Magdalena; brothers, Robert, Herbert, John and Fred and sister, Marie. He also has numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his father, Leopold in 1985 and a daughter, Darlene, in 1999. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, CO. A Committal Service will immediately follow the Memorial Service at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
