Albert Leon Maise

November 1, 1923 — July 13, 2014

We are mourning the loss of our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather who we all consider one of the noblest and finest of men. He dazzles others with his kindness, and his generous spirit. He was the eldest son, born to Angelo Mario Maiese, and Filomena Delli Paouli Maiese on November 1, 1923 in Monesson, Pennsylvania. He had loving siblings, the late Alfred Maise, the late Eugene Maise, the late Lillian Imbragno nee Maise, the late Charles Maise, Theresa Joseph nee Maise, and Mary Zeh nee Maise. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 66 years, Patty Friedmann Maise, his 3 loving daughters Linda Fredrick and her husband Jerry, Sharon Stone and her spouse Marvin, and Joanie Quador and her spouse Gene, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. His fourth daughter, Mary Jo Smith, preceded him in 2007. Al was a long time employee of the U.S. Postal Service, working additional jobs as a doorman, taxi driver and ticket seller at Mile High Kennel Club. He retired in 1978. He also served during WWII in the Army Air Force in the Pacific Operations as a bomb loader on a B29 bomber. He was a lifelong learner. He put himself through college and graduated from Regis University. He aspired to be a lawyer and a judge throughout his adult lifetime. He was a paralegal and a member of Mensa. Al was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and served as a eucharistic minister and in the Knights of Columbus which he served many years and was a Grand Knight. His interests also entailed participation in local and national politics and serving as an officer of NARFE in Colorado. He will be forever loved and remembered as a man of faith and a human being who shared his life in a positive way with all whom he met. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:00 in the morning at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11385 Grant Drive in Northglenn. A private family of committal will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Memorial Contributions are suggested to either the American Cancer Society 2255 S. Oneida St., Denver, CO 80224 or the Padre Pio Foundation of America, 463 Main St., Cromwell, CT 06416.
