Alexander J. Mollendor

Alexander J. Mollendor passed away on May 21, 2015. Alexander was born in Brighton, Colorado on January 12, 1922. Alexander married his wife Mary Sack and the two were three months shy of their sixty third wedding anniversary when Mary passed on September 23, 2010. Alexander was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He loved fishing, playing cards, and was a big fan of John Wayne movies. He loved watching the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos play. Alexander was a devout Catholic and a member of The Secular Order of the Servants of Mary. He also loved his ice cream! Alexander was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Susan Mollendor, his wife Mary, and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his four children: Mary (Albert) Dreher, Alexander (Patti) Mollendor, Thomas (Lori) Mollendor, and Kenneth (Annette) Mollendor. He is also survived by his brother, Albert (Mary) Mollendor. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: Eric (Tiffany) Dreher, Kelli (Matt) McCoy, Terri (John) Haden, Melinda (Josh) Tancrede, Elizabeth Mollendor, Daniel Mollendor, Michelle Mollendor, Tiffani (John) Cassidy, and Monique (Carlos) Garay. Alexander was also a great grandfather to ten: Makayla, Makenzy, Christopher, Mariah, Jenna, Seth, Alex, Isabella, Michael, and Jionni. A rosary service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 7 O'Clock in the evening at Horan & McConaty family chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Eleven O'Clock in the morning at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 2361 East 78th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80229. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation may be made in Alexander's name to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
