Alexander Phillip Polzine

May 27, 1991 — March 10, 2011

Alexander Phillip Polzine was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on May 27, 1991 to Janine and Alexander Polzine. He left this earth on March 10, 2011 leaving behind his loving family. He is survived by his parents of Bennett, Colorado, his sister Chelsie (Seth) Youtsey of Aurora, Colorado and sister Lauren Polzine of Bennett, Colorado, his fiancé Abigail Lukkarila and son Liam Polzine of Aurora, Colorado, grandparents Bethel Davis of Palisade, Colorado and Judy Polzine of Chubbuck, Idaho, niece Lindsay Holdorf of Aurora, Colorado, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Phil went to Antelope Elementary and met many lifelong friends there. He decided in first grade that he would go by Alex instead of Phil. But the family never got away from calling him Phil and he will always be Phil to us. He then attended Thunder Ridge Middle School where he kept many friends and made more. Phillip attended Cherokee Trail High School and graduated in May of 2009. While there he played football and baseball during his freshman and sophomore years. During his junior year he met the love of his life, Abby. During High School Phillip got great pleasure from trying and experiencing many different things. From there he attended Metro State University. Some of the many activities he enjoyed were; playing football, baseball and snowboarding, spending time with friends and family, working on cars, hunting, music and art. Phillip started his football career when he was 6, he played for the Spartans. Phil started playing baseball when he was 8, also for the Spartans. His dad enjoyed every minute of coaching his boy. In his free time Phil loved going snowboarding with his sister Lauren and other friends. Phil's friends and family were very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with, talking to, playing games and just hanging out with them. Phillip was a great mechanic, many people entrusted their cars to him because they could see that he thoroughly enjoyed working on them. Phil had many great times hunting with his dad, Alex and all the guys. Being outdoors in the mountains gave him solace. There was rarely a moment when Phil wasn't listening to or talking about a song that he loved, he enjoyed and was comforted by music. Phil used art to portray the world through his eyes and while doing so clearly illustrated his inner beauty. He was always happy and had a smile on his face. All those who knew him felt his sensitive side and his kind heart. He will be greatly missed.
