Alice Ann Railton Barton, age 72, died at Sky Ridge Medical Center on December 31, 2022. She graduated from Jones High School in Oklahoma and married her high school sweetheart, Rex Barton. They shared one son, Chris. Alice worked as a fleet manager in the trucking industry for more than forty years before her retirement in 2015, when she became a full-time expert “Grammy.”
Singing was the first love of Alice’s life. She sang first in high school choir, then several joyous years in Sweet Adelines in Oklahoma City, and later as a treasured voice and presence in her church choir. Her main occupation in her retirement years was loving and spoiling her grandkids, great-nieces and -nephews, and everyone else she possibly could. Her neighbor said, “She was everyone’s Grammy. She had so much love to give.” Alice is survived by her son, Chris, daughter-in-law Mandy, and three treasured grandchildren, as well as her brother Michael and his wife Mary Lynn, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and honorary family of all ages. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Rex, and sister Melody.
