Alice was born August 22, 1925 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado to Agnes and Theo Murphy of Hugo, Colorado. The Murphy's already had one son named Arthur. When Alice lost her mother at age 7, she moved into the home of her Aunt Ann and Uncle Ray Murphy in Golden, Colorado. After graduating from a local area high school she enrolled in nursing school. While attending nursing school she met Albert J. Behaeghe at the USO in Denver, Colorado. Albert was an Army Air Corps Bombadier and shortly after meeting Alice was re-stationed in Texas. She followed him to Texas, where shortly thereafter they married on July 1, 1944 in Pyote. Albert was then reassigned to the European theater and Alice moved to Detroit, where she lived with Albert's mother until the end of the war in Europe. Albert and Alice settled in Detroit where their first three children were born: Patricia Ann, born on June 1, 1946, Candice Marie, born on February 9, 1951, and Mary Maureen, born on April 28, 1953. In 1954, the Behaeghe family relocated to Denver, Colorado where their last 3 children were born: Alan Michael, born May 18, 1956, Morris John, born October 28, 1957, and Valerie Jean, born January 28, 1960. Alice went to work for the Continental Airlines in 1964 where she worked for nearly 20 years and retired in 1983. Albert and Alice then relocated to their mountain home, that Albert designed and the entire extended family built, outside Westcliff, Colorado and lived there until 1992. They moved to Fulton, Texas where they lived until Albert's death on January 11, 1997. After Albert passed away she continued to live in Fulton until September 2004, when unable to live on her own any longer, her family moved her back to the Denver metro area. During her time in Fulton her youngest daughter, Valerie, suddenly passed away on January 11, 2004. She resided in long-term care at Bethany Healthplex in Lakewood, Colorado until her eventual passing on February 21, 2007. She is survived by her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
