Alice Colleen Bonefield

Alice Colleen (Watkins) Bonefield, 80, of Ainsworth, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. She was born to the late Charles and Violet (Hiatt) Watkins on August 5, 1933 in Denver, Colorado. Alice graduated from East High School in 1950. Alice married Gary Bonefield on July 22, 1966 in Denver, Colorado at Montclair Community Reformed Church. They resided in Northglenn, Colorado until 2012 when they relocated to Ainsworth, Nebraska. Alice worked as a Reservation Agent for United Airlines beginning in 1960 and retiring in 1994. She loved to play scrabble with her co-workers, travel with her kids, and play cards at the Senior Center. She enjoyed watching sports especially baseball and football. More than anything, Alice loved music. She was a self-taught musician and for 65 years played the piano and organ in church. Alice is survived by her spouse, Gary Bonefield; and six children, Dennis Schwartz, Orange County, California, Cindy Castor, Ainsworth, Nebraska, Charles Schwartz, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rochelle Sladky, Carrollton, Texas, Peter Bonefield, Sturgis, South Dakota, and Paula Johnston, Parker, Texas. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joanne Otten of Ft. Lupton, Colorado. Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado 80229. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Baptist Church, 11980 Irma Drive, Northglenn, Colorado with a reception to follow. Her burial will be held at the family cemetery at the Little Missouri Lutheran Church in Capitol, Montana.
