Alice Marie Goodman

November 11, 1935 — May 16, 2013

Alice Marie Dewees was born in Greenleaf, Kansas on November 11, 1935 to Ernest Glenn and Meta Fawn Dewees. Alice was the third of four children with brother Lavern, sister Dorothy, and younger brother Larry. The family eventually moved to Brewster, Kansas where Alice graduated high school in 1953. In 1954 she married Clarence Berry and in 1959 they welcomed their daughter Tina Marie. Alice and Clarence divorced in 1964 and she married Delmar Pargman that same year. Alice, Delmar and Tina lived in California, Texas, and Oklahoma before ultimately settling in Colorado. Alice and Delmar were married 17 years before divorcing. Alice married Derald Goodman in 1982. With Derald, Alice gained two adult stepsons, Derald Jr. and Troy. Alice and Derald enjoyed life in Aurora, Colorado with their blended family, which soon provided them with three beloved grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan, and Stacy. Alice and Derald were married nearly 26 years before Derald's death in 2008. Alice was lonely after Derald's passing. She lived for over a year with her sister-in-law Jeannie before moving in with Tina, where she resided the last year of her life. Alice passed away on May 16, 2013. During her lifetime Alice enjoyed playing cards, dancing, cooking, reading, travel, and mostly spending time with family. Her family had grown over the years with Tina's partner Andy, Derald Jr.'s wife Mimi, Shannon's husband Alberto, Ryan's wife Ruth, and Stacy's husband James. Her ultimate joy came in October 2011 when she became ""Nana"" with the birth of her first great grandchild, Carlina, followed by great grandson Jacob in February 2012. She also loved and readily ""adopted"" Andy's granddaughter Melina and his son Ahmad. Over the years, Alice also enjoyed time with her brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews from the Goodman family as well as several Dewees family reunions with her siblings, their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly. Alice was a classy lady and always looked sharp with rarely a hair out of place. One of Alice's favorite excursions was her weekly visits to the hair salon where she had developed lifelong friendships with some wonderful people. Alice was fun-loving, quick-witted, warm, spirited, and a great cook. She was a vibrant, beautiful woman with bright eyes and a smile that lit up a room. Alice left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Alice will be greatly missed by all. Rest in peace, Alice Marie.
