Alice “Dolly” Julian, 92, formerly of Bolton, CT, passed away peacefully at her home in Parker, Colorado on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The daughter of the late Jose B. and Zilda (Duponte) Medeiros, Dolly was born in Fall River, Massachusetts where she spent her childhood.
After she married Al, the love of her life, she lived in Hartford and then Bolton. Later, Al and Dolly relocated to Parker, Colorado to be close to their son and daughter-in-law.
In her early years in Massachusetts, she was known as the “Shirley Temple of Fall River” as she began a career in entertainment. Over time, that blossomed into a contract with a New York talent agency. Dolly enjoyed singing and dancing and performed at several entertainment venues. After several years, she decided to leave the stage to get married and start a family.
While raising a family, Dolly spent several years as a Real Estate Broker, as well as working in sales at Sears, earning several awards for her sales performance. Her personality ensured repeat customers, and they in turn provided a network of new customers!
Dolly also enjoyed being an entrepreneur and owned a pottery store, “The Closet” in Manchester, in addition to several other business ventures. She was an avid shopper and had a unique flair for fashion. Dolly and Al also enjoyed traveling to antique auctions and stores.
Always willing to help family and friends who were in need of support and advice, although she was short in stature, she was long in personality and had an infectious laugh!
Dolly leaves her son Kevin Julian and his wife, Teresa; sister, Shirley Medeiros Mohamed and her husband Col. Joseph Mohamed Sr. Ret. of Sacramento, California; brother Tony Medeiros and his wife Marcie of Westerly, Rhode Island. Dolly was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse (Al); sister Elsie Costa; brothers Armand, Daniel, and George Medeiros.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Fil and Lerma who provided excellent care for Dolly and Al, along with Debbie and Natasha who helped out on weekends. You will always be an important part of our family. Special thanks to Susan, our wonderful hospice nurse and the caring team at Porter Hospice.
