Allan Keith Mackey

66, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on June 24, 2014. Allan was born on June 7, 1948 in Dearborn, Michigan, to Carroll Dwight and Margaret Jane (Freeman) Mackey. He is survived by his children, Alicia Herboldshimer and Spence Mackey; siblings, Jim Mackey, Duane Mackey and Don Mackey and former spouse, Donna D'Amico. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Dwight and Margaret Jane (Freeman) Mackey and sister, Jean Mackey. Allan had been suffering from the degenerative COPD disease and it finally caught up with him. For those of you who knew him well, a disease which was basically immobilizing was difficult for Allan to adjust to…no more motorcycle cruises through the mountains; no more skiing, bike riding, and then even walking became difficult. He kept his struggles mostly to himself, not wanting to burden anybody, but we all knew it was taking its toll. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (At Parker Rd.), Aurora, CO 80014. The family extends an invite to anyone attending to join them at the Tavern Lowry, 7401 East 1st Avenue, Denver, CO 80230, immediately after for a toast to Allan and Celebration of his Life…stories are welcomed and encouraged.
