Allen ""Al"" E. Hill, Jr.

June 24, 1928 — October 15, 2015

Al passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dotty Hill; son, Tom Jamison; parents; and 9 siblings. Al is survived by his sisters, Betty O'Nele and Esther Bishop; children, Richard & Ellen Jamison, Mary & Russ Herre, John & Cindy Hill, and Tim Hill; as well as 11 beloved grandchildren and 20 adored great grandchildren. Al was born the youngest of 11 children. During the depths of the Great Depression, about age 8, he went to live on a farm in Mankato, Minnesota with John & Mildred Timmerman whom he lived with until he joined the U.S. Army in 1947. He was stationed in Germany as part of the post war peace keeper force. in 1950, when war broke out in Korea, he was dropped into the Pusan Perimeter on 8/28/1950 serving on an 8"" howitzer crew. Al was in North Korea when the Chinese Army entered the war. After the war, he settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he met Dotty and her 3 wonderful children. Al & Dotty were married in December of 1958 and remained together until Dotty's passing in April of this year. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton. Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:30 PM, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
