Allen James Votaw, 72, of Westminster, Colorado passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in San Diego California to Frank and Mildred Votaw, he spent most of his life in California, Illinois and finally in Colorado for the past 22 years. Allen was a generous, compassionate, and witty man who enjoyed watching movies, star gazing, researching genealogy, and all things science fiction. He served in the Air Force for four years and after became an engineer in the area of computer science. He helped design a piece of equipment that is currently in space on the Hubble Space Telescope. Allen is survived by his three children, Darla Camacho of Forney, Texas, Darcie Votaw of Westminster, Colorado, and David Votaw of Fallbrook, California. He is also survived by his two sisters, Myra Gaussoin of El Cajon, California and Eva Leveille of San Diego, California. He has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive guests at a Viewing, Thursday November 30, 2017 beginning at 6:00 PM until 8:00 Pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. Interment will held Friday, December 1, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area B, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. A Memorial Service honoring Allen's life will be held immediately following at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Arvada Stake Building , 7080 Independence Street , Arvada, CO 80003.
