Alvin Frank Davis

Alvin F. Davis Jr. Longtime Strasburg resident Alvin Frank Davis Jr. passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2004 at the age of 53. He was born second of six children to Alvin and Florence Davis of Denver, Colorado on July 4, 1951. He graduated from Merritt Hutton High School in 1969. After graduating Alvin began working for his father as an apprentice cement finisher and worked construction until 1976 when he began working for the City and County of Denver at Stapleton International Airport. He worked at the airport until he transferred to Street Maintenance and was later promoted to the position of Operations Supervisor. Alvin had 28 years of service with the city when he passed away. On June 21, 1974 he married Kristie Kechter of Thornton, Colorado, and soon after they moved to Strasburg to raise their family. Alvin was a very loving and caring husband and father. He is survived by his wife Kristie of Strasburg, CO, daughter Patti (Dave) Gabriel of Kiowa, Co, sons, Alvin III of Strasburg and David (Kristi) of Woodlawn, TN, sister Margaret Larson (Scotty Smith) of Denver, and brothers James (Teresa) of Strasburg, Robert (Carol Manke) of Aurora, and William of Bennett. He had five grandchildren at the time of his death, Austin, Jacob, Emili, McKenzie, and Gus. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. Alvin was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother, Norman Davis. Alvin will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Funeral service will be held at 10 am, on Monday, January 3, 2005, at Strasburg Community Church, 56155 Sunset Avenue, with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Services will conclude at the Church and a reception will follow for family and friends.
