Amy Macdonald

November 6, 1959 — December 24, 2020

Pittsfield, MA

Amy Jo MacDonald, passed away unexpectedly on December 24th, 2020. She will be greatly missed by her survivors : her daughter Jenna Frederick and fiancé  Andrew Hoekstra; her companion, Scott Thomas; her stepfather, Bill Baker; her Aunt, Haroldean Smith; her sisters, Laurie (Jim) Peaslee; Julie (Jack) Norian; and Kathy (Sandie Newberry) MacDonald; her brothers, Michael (Janine) MacDonald and David (Bridget) MacDonald; her cousins, Kolleen Schmitt and Kyle Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Amy was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on November 6th, 1959 to J. Beverly and Richard MacDonald. After graduating from Mt. Everett High School in 1977 she headed west to Colorado where she attended the University of Denver and Front Range Community College.

Amy was a loving soul; she never met an animal she didn’t want to adopt, she loved and protected her family and she enthusiastically welcomed each new addition.  Amy loved the outdoors - she had an eye for natural beauty and she shared it,  whether it was in one of her sketches, her photographs or by simply pointing out a new bloom in her garden or the reflection of a sunset in a nearby pond.  Most of all, she adored her pride and joy, her daughter Jenna.

Amy’s quick wit, sense of humor and infectious laugh made every friend and family gathering a lot more fun. In that spirit, a celebration of Amy’s life, love and laughter will take place at a future date.
