Andrea C. Lupinacci

Andrea C. Lupinacci of Evergreen, Colorado passed away on October 30, 2023 at the age of 82.  Loving wife of Joseph P. Lupinacci of Evergreen, mother of Joseph B. Lupinacci and her daughter in law Heidi Lupinacci also of Evergreen and grandmother to Joey and Jillian Lupinacci of Evergreen. Andrea was born in 1940 to Katherine and Bill Carpineto in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. At the age of 15 the family made the move to the suburbs out on Long Island choosing to move to Oceanside. Andrea graduated in 1958 from Oceanside High School and attended Adelphi College (now University) in Garden City NY where she joined the Phi Mu sorority and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. Andrea accepted employment at Baldwin Jr. High School as a home economics teacher. Andrea married Joseph in 1970 and they settled into a new home in Medford, NY. Andrea returned to teaching home economics after a brief absence where she taught at Patchogue Medford, Comsewogue, William Floyd and Sayville High Schools in a career spanning 28 years. Andrea had a passion for cooking and this passion extended to hundreds of students over the years. Andrea retired from teaching in 2003 and became a grandmother in 2004 with the birth of Jillian. The Lupinacci family moved to Evergreen, Colorado in 2006 and her grandson Joey was born in 2008 in Denver. Andrea firmly believed that home economics still had a place in schools and was witness to some of the recent resurgence of the program via career connected pathways programs in some schools.  Andrea was an avid reader, loved to cook, enjoyed her garden and was proud not only of her Italian descent but of her Finnish heritage. Andrea had “Sisu” which in Finnish is roughly translated to strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity

A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM and then again from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood.  

A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, the interment will immediately follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
