Andres Trujillo

December 12, 1939 — July 28, 2008

Andrew ""Andy"" Trujillo, 68 years old, Aurora, Colorado passed away July 28, 2008 in Denver, Colorado. Andrew was born on December 12, 1939 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. He was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church and was later also baptized in a Christian Church. Andrew and Mary Ann attend Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. Andrew and Mary Ann Mares-Trujillo married in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 13, 1990. Andrew and Mary Ann were introduced to each other by Bob (Andrew's friend) and Loretta (Mary Ann's sister). Their simple way of living began with their courtship when Bob told Mary Ann that Andy wanted to take her out to dinner and Mary Ann responded with ""I'm game"". They went to the Gala Gardens for dinner that evening and from that night, they had a long distance romance for 1 ½ years. They then decided to get married in Vegas and toured Albuquerque, Flagstaff and The Grand Canyon on the way. Andrew wanted to get married before visiting his parents on the way back from Vegas in Utah as he knew his parents would make them sleep separately if they weren't married. Andrew was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and received numerous awards from his long-term career at Wonder Bakery. Andrew volunteered at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and was well known for his ability to recall facts and historical events. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader of science fiction and historical novels and also loved classical music such as The Three Tenors. Man's best friend has always been his dog and this was definitely the case for Andrew, he and Scotty were best friends for the past 14 ½ years. Every night at 8:30, Scotty would go to the basement door and bark to tell Mary Ann and him it was time to watch TV. Andrew was loyal to the 10:00 news and read the newspaper everyday as if it were his Bible. Fishing was a favorite pastime for Andrew as he enjoyed it with his buddies and was well known for catching the most and largest fish. He enjoyed watching college basketball, the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos and would you believe he and Mary Ann never missed Dancing with the Stars even in the hospital. Mary Ann always thought he had a good diet but little did she know that the kids always slipped him Coca-Cola and desserts. Andrew brought spiritual light to his friends and family and taught people how to reflect on what each person's purpose is here on earth. There were uncountable prayers from family members, friends and people who didn't even know him. Andrew was an Angel in the hospital bed and will continue to be an angel for those of us left behind. For those who were able to spend time with him over the past 3 months will definitely be unforgettable and so memorable. Although Andrew was unable to speak for a majority of the time he still spoke by raising his infamous eyebrows and rolling his eyes. Passive, Loving and Compassionate...we will always remember… A visitation and Rosary will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E.
