Andrew Thomas Aucoin, 38, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away January 11, 2020. He was born June 18, 1981 in Lewisville, Texas. Andrew is survived by his Father, Donald W. Aucoin, of Lakewood, his brother, Robert (Maria) Aucoin and beloved nieces Josephine and Margot, of Denver, and his maternal grandfather, Raymond Thomas of Dunn, Louisiana. In addition, Diann Thomas (Mike) Pierceall, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, his mother's identical twin sister, as well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Clara Aucoin, his maternal grandmother Wilma Thomas, and his paternal grandparents Opal and Dewey Aucoin. Andrew grew up for the most part in the mountain communities of rural Gilpin County, Colorado and attended school in Nederland, Colorado. In high school he excelled in football, basketball, and track & field. He attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado for two years. Andrew was a gentle giant that was caring and empathic. He had a plethora of friends from school and his work in the service industry. His friendships went way beyond normal work acquaintances, though. Once you were Andrew's friend, you had a true friend without reservation. He maintained his friendships as best he could and always offered a shoulder to lean on and to commiserate with. He always gave generously of himself to his friends and family. He enjoyed music, karaoke, tabletop games, video games, and working out at the gym. He lived life boldly and on his own terms. He greatly impacted his friends and family in so many ways, and was a beautiful and amazing soul. He is missed and loved, and will be forever live on in our memories. Thanks for being a part of our lives, Andrew.
