Andrew (Andy) James Moreland passed away on February 16, 2016, in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 73. Andy was born on November 3rd, 1942 in Stamford, Texas to Henry James Moreland, Jr. and Elizabeth Rybiski Moreland. Andy and his family were members of the Central Presbyterian church in Stamford, where he was an active member of the youth group. Andy played football for Stamford High School under coach Gordon Wood, winning several AA state championships. Rumor had it that he was the best looking boy on the field. Andy married Victoria Ann Harrison in 1962 and had a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Moreland-Mason, later that year. Andy graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in accounting in 1964, moved to Houston and accepted a position with Tenneco, Inc. Andy married his second wife, Karolyn Kay Fuller in 1967. They had two children, Gretchen Leigh Duncan and Andrew Gregory Moreland. Tenneco offered Andy and his family the opportunity to travel the world, living in Argentina, Peru and Holland, and visiting many other countries. In 1989, Andy married Betty J. Burnside. Andy and Betty enjoyed many adventures over the following years, including scuba diving, skiing and traveling around the globe. They owned Americas Bar and Grill in Denver and Aurora. Throughout their marriage, their mutual love of travel and horses brought them continued joy. Andy is survived by his wife, Betty Moreland, his children Elizabeth Moreland-Mason and husband Jeff, Gretchen Duncan and husband Andrew and Greg Moreland and wife Barb, his step children Greg Burnside, Rick Burnside and Brad Burnside, his sister Mabeth Sanderson and husband Bill, his grandchildren Sara Mason, Ronalee Romine, David Mason, Shane Moreland, Jesse Moreland and Oskar Duncan, and his great grandchildren Elijah Ingram and Moira Romine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry James Moreland, Jr. and Elizabeth Rybiski Moreland, and his grandson Jack Duncan In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andy's memory to the Praying Hands Horse Ranches, Inc., 4825 Daley Circle, Parker, CO, 80138. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27th at 11:00 AM at the Tower Community Fellowship church, 1800 South Tower Road, Aurora Colorado.
