Andrew W. Sims

Andrew Whitelaw Sims was born May 15th, 1938 to Robert W. and Mary Sims in Spangler, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of four children and the only boy. He grew up playing sports and causing trouble running wild in the woods of Pennsylvania. After graduating from Northern Cambria High School in Barnesboro, PA. in 1956 he joined the United States Air Force and became a Communications Specialist. While stationed in Alexandria LA. Andy met the love of his life Carolyn, they were married Jan. 17th, 1959. In 1978 Andy and Carolyn retired from the Air Force in Aurora, CO. Andy worked for Acme Distribution in Denver as a forklift operator until he retired. They lived and loved together for 56 years, until Carolyn departed in 2015. Andy spent the last two years living in Colorado Springs with Mandy and Dave in Colorado Springs, they were so glad to have him. Andy left this world to be with Carolyn on September 11th,2017. He is survived by his four children Debbie, Thomas, Robert and Mandy, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed more than words can ever say. A service for Andy will be held Monday Sept. 18th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue (at S.
