Andrew "Roo" Jason Weir

Andrew Jason Weir, 45, passed away in Aurora, CO on Sunday August 21st, 2022. Born September 8th, 1976 in Burlington, Iowa. He was the son of Danny Weir and Connie (Harris) Vaughan. Andy graduated from Burlington High School in 1994 and joined the United States Army following graduation.

Andy was a man of many skills and talents. He was a welder by trade and loved music and fixing just about anything. He especially loved working on his motorcycle and going on rides.

He is survived by his wife Jordan, his four children, Drake Shelledy, of Chicago, IL, Addison Weir of Iowa City, IA, Andrew Jason Weir Jr. of Burlington, IA, and Caleb Weir of Erie, CO, as well as two grandchildren and three brothers, Matthew Weir (Dawn) of West Burlington, IA, Brad Weir of Burlington, IA and Lucas Weir (Melissa) of Ankeny, IA, two step-sisters, Melinda (Michael) Costin of Vernon Hills, IL, Carrie Vaughan of Burlington, IA and one step-brother John (Elizabeth) Vaughan of Burlington, IA and one half sister Marcella Miller of Lebanon, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, John Vaughan.

Andy wished for his ashes to be spread on the Mississippi River. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at the Burlington 40 & 8, 2712 Mt Pleasant St, Burlington, IA 52601 (Behind the Burlington Bee’s Stadium) on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 from 4 PM - 7 PM.

A memorial motorcycle ride to honor Andy will begin at the Burlington 40 & 8 at 7 PM and will end at Big Muddy’s Restaurant.
