Andy Benkowski

Andy Scott Benkowski, was born on February 26, 2003 and passed away at home in Arvada on May 13, 2023.  He is survived by his dad, Edieray (Shannon), his brothers Blaze and Cody (Makayla), his niece Zeyla and nephew Leo.  As well as, Uncles, Aunts, many cousins, extended family and friends.  He will be greeted in heaven by his mom Maxine, his grandparents Ilene and Dennis Benkowski, and Pauline Maes and his cousin Alicia Wessling.

Andy loved music.  He wrote songs, created videos and aspired to be a rapper that would one day sell out stadium shows.  Andy was always the “small kid and class clown”.  This gave him an outer appearance of being incredibly tough and fearless and he wasn’t afraid to fight.  However, at his core he was especially sweet and had a huge heart.

Recently, he had begun weightlifting and was enjoying getting stronger.  In his short-lived life, Andy was a natural at making others smile and entertaining them, he had a unique sense of humor.  He took pride in his fashion statements and always thought he was cooler when he was “dripped” out.

In one of his letters, he wrote that he was given this solitude time to reflect and he became aware of his struggles, took ownership and that led him to read the bible. One of his last messages was “I’m doing great and actually I have even started doing adult stuff, LOL.”

Services for Andy will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.  There will be a visitation at 10:30am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am at the Spirit of Christ, Arvada.  A burial will take place at the Arvada Cemetery at 1:00pm.  Please join the family to celebrate Andy at his Aunt Christina’s at 7704 Quartz Street, Arvada at 2:30pm.
