Angela Herceglic

February 7, 1939 — February 21, 2016

Angela Herceglic was born February 7, 1939 in Pula Italy. She was the last surviving member of her siblings, Maria, Anna, Antonia, Joseppi, Emelia, Margherita, Elizabetta and Francesco. Her suffering ended February 21, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her two sons Robertino and Dennis, her grandchildren Brittany, Maximillian and Alexander, and her daughter in-law also named Angela Herceglic. She is also survived by the countless friends and people she touched, guided, provided direction, and taught about life. Angela was studying to be a physician in Pula, moving through the ranks of chemist, lab analyst and town clinician. Angela came to the United States with her husband Harudinja, and first son Robertino on November 22, 1969. Her adversity and strength would be tested that day as her sister Maria died only minutes from seeing each other in the new world. In 1972 they brought home their second child Dennis. Throughout her life she faced fears, uncertainty, and health issues that would arise slowly and steadily. Her biggest light in times of darkness were her two boys and the friendships and bonds she created throughout her life. Regardless of her circumstances, her home was always filled with caring friends who would intently listen to this incredibly intelligent person guide them in times of sadness, and struggles and somehow was always able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. She loved puzzles, games, and anything that would challenge her mind. She was always up for a game of battlefield with her Daughter in-law Angela and close friend Elaine or Perquacky with Robertino and daughter Brittany. Always winning and always teaching. At the age of 60 working full time decided to go back to school full time and earn her Associates Degree and her Paralegal certification. Taking the bus to the city everyday to work then walking to school. She loved school and loved the challenge and would often say ""hey if I can do it, so can you"". Angela gave everyone she touched hope and was always the shoulder to cry on. She raised her sons single handedly and gave them the character to do more, be more and most importantly listen. The world cannot fill the void Angela created and her strength and determination to live was nothing short of remarkable, she did all of this with a smile and hug.
