Anita Marie Becky, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6th,2024 at the age of 91. She was born on December 29th, 1932, in Howells, Nebraska to Ladislav and Helen (Konsel) Mejstrik.
Anita was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She dedicated her life to helping others as a nurse and was a devoted philanthropist, always seeking ways to make a positive impact on the world around her.
Anita was a dedicated wife to the love of her life Joseph R. Becky, whom she met at Creighton Medical School, her senior year at St Catherine’s School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. They both graduated in 1953, were married 3 months later in Howells, Nebraska and moved to Denver. Anita was Joe’s nurse in his private practice for the first 16 of his 42 years.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Anita was a dedicated and loving mother to Brandis and always put her first, providing unwavering support and guidance throughout her life.
Anita had a passion for animals, particularly her West Highland Terries, and enjoyed spending time on the ranch they bought in 1962 where they raised Angus Cattle and later American Bison.
Anita was a devoted member of the catholic church and deeply spiritual. She supported her community by serving as past president of the American Angus Auxiliary, Mile Hi Cow Bells, past president of Friends of Nursing and the Denver Medical Society, past Board of Directors - Good Will Industries a proud member of the National Western Stock Show and Citizen of the West Arrangements Committee.
Anita is survived by her daughter Brandis Joyce Becky and her 2 Grandchildren, Sloan Marie Pelletier (15) and Kai Joseph Pelletier (18). Anita was preceded into death by her beloved husband of 65 years Joseph R. Becky M.D.
Relatives and friends are welcome to celebrate the life of Anita Becky at Christ the King Catholic Church, 860 Elm St. for visitation at 1pm and mass at 2pm on May 15th, 2024, with a reception to follow.
Anita will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan with friends and Family on May 28th, 2024. Memorial contributions are welcome to be made to Friends of Nursing in honor of Anita Becky. https://friendsofnursing.org
