Anita Louise Reese

July 18, 1939 — December 29, 2015

Anita Louise (Parkison) Reese of Monroe, MI, was born on July 18, 1939, in Colorado Springs, CO and departed suddenly, but peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 29, 2015, at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Parker, CO. Anita and Harold Brent Reese were married on Aug. 19, 1956 in Englewood, CO. They settled in Detroit, MI where they raised their four children: Brent, Shari, Susan and Daniel. Anita was selflessly devoted to her husband, children and community, first in Detroit as Den Mother, Brownie Leader, PTA President, Elizabeth Circle and choir member. Then after their move to Monroe, as a member of Dundee Band Boosters, Elizabeth Circle, choir and Sr. High Chaperon at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, where she and Harold were members for 30+ years and showed their faith in action holding roles of deacon and elder, which included cooking and serving weekly meals for Monroe's homeless community, delivering beds in the Beds Ministry, building homes with Habitat for Humanity, and financially supporting the Socks, Dental and Optical and other ministries providing support where Health Fairs left off. Anita was fun-loving, sweet, non-judgmental, patient, kind, and caring to all and the epitome of a lady. She was absolutely adored by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and ""adopted"" grandchildren, who were friends or extended family who were quick to claim her as their own. Anita was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Allen Parkison; mother, Gerna Pearlene (Dean) Cox; and father, Derron (Tiny) Lloyd Parkison. Anita is survived by her husband Harold of 59 years, sister Patricia (Parkison) Walborn of Wray, CO; son Brent and daughter-in-law Theresa Reese of Maybee, MI; daughter Shari Reese Wilson of Parker, CO; daughter Susan and son-in-law Andy Hankins of Parker, CO; son Daniel Reese of Westminster, CO; eight grandchildren Sarah, Matthew, Melissa, Daniel, Michael, Cameron, Andrew and Colin, and seven great grandchildren all who adored her and are better because of her love, support and influence.
