Ann E. (Eastman) Johnson passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Lutheran Hospice in Wheatridge on June 1, 2023. Ann was born July 19, 1932, to Virgil “Stubby” Eastman and Donalda (Macdonald) Eastman. Stubby’s career as a U.S. Forest Ranger took Ann to many remote and rugged Ranger stations throughout rural Idaho and Montana. In 1950, She graduated from high school in Big Fork MT, and moved to Seattle where she met and married Donald “Don” Johnson, her loving husband of 69 years. Ann and Don raised three children together as the family moved several times due to Don’s career exploring the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Alberta.
Ann was a loving wife and mother who also pursued a professional career and her artistic ambitions. In 1970, Ann graduated from the University of Alberta as a Registered Nurse where her graduating class awarded her with “Best Bedside Manner”. Ann enjoyed a fulfilling nursing career, serving in hospitals in Edmonton, Calgary, and Denver. After retirement, Ann pursued her considerable artistic passions as a Master Gardener with the Denver Botanical Gardens, and as a well-recognized artist with the Colorado Watercolor Society.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, and her dear sister, Carol (Eastman) Tadvick. Ann is survived by Don, her three children Jeff (Laurie), Donna, and Larry (Shirley), and four grandchildren Katie (Robert Clark), Tom (Helen), Joe, and Andrew.
A celebration of life will be held at Horan and McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, on Monday July 10, 2023 at 11:30am with a reception to follow.
