Ann Jolenne Laing

May 13, 1962 — November 3, 2024

On Sunday, November 3, 2024, heaven welcomed a remarkable soul as Ann left this world surrounded by her beloved family. She was at home, wrapped in their love, and passed away at the age of 62 after a brief but valiant two-and-a-half-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Ann was known by all who loved her as a kind, compassionate, and deeply caring woman. She built a life centered around giving—her greatest gifts reflected in the family she raised and in her impactful 37-year career in nursing. She brought her husband of 40 years endless joy and devotion, and together, they raised two wonderful children. Ann embodied love in all she did, touching the lives of her family, patients, and community.

Beyond her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ann had a fulfilling life full of friendship and faith. She loved being part of her book club and bible study groups, where she found friendship and connection. A proud and active member of the United Methodist Church’s Women in Faith (UWF) organization, Ann dedicated herself to living her faith in service to others. Her family remembers her as a woman with a boundless heart and the warmest, most comforting hugs and kisses—a woman who spread kindness wherever she went and whose legacy of love will endure.

Ann requested that trees be planted in her memory in place of flowers. Her wish was for her love and spirit to live on in the beauty of nature, creating a greener world for generations to come. Each tree planted in her honor will serve as a reminder of her enduring love and the positive impact she made.

For those who wish to contribute, trees may be planted in Ann’s name through the USDA’s Plant a Tree Program https://plantatree.fs.usda.gov/
