Ann Sullivan

d. May 11, 2020

Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, peacefully, on Monday, May 11th at the age of 70. Beloved wife of Lew Colgan for 33 years. Dear Sister (Jim Sullivan), Sister-In-Law, Cousin, Grandmother Aunt (and Surrogate Mother) to sixteen nephews and nieces and wonderful friend to all. Ann is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Helen Sullivan and siblings Tom (Marge) Sullivan, Pauline Bentley and Marie (Steve) Hunsicker. Ann Sullivan was born on August 11th, 1949 in St. Louis, MO to Tom and Helen Sullivan. She graduated from Xavier High School in 1967 and St. Mary's College in 1971 with a BS degree. After moving to Kansas City, MO, Ann began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a Service Rep. She met Lew Colgan after moving to San Francisco. Lew worked for AT&T as a network engineer. The couple married on June 4th, 1987. Despite having no children together, Ann was a bonus mother to many and a source of unconditional love and support to Lew's children, her nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces and countless others. After a 25 plus year career in Corporate America, Ann took on a second career as a first grade teacher at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and School. She loved her students and they loved her. It was a passion vocation that she was deeply committed to. After retiring, Ann and Lew traveled domestically and abroad, including a trip to her ancestral homeland of Lithuania in 2018. They took many trips to St. Louis and Seattle to visit with their nephews and nieces. Ann loved literature, watching Law and Order and listening to music. She was smart and well-read. She and Lew consistently hosted family and friends that visited CO. CDs were in a continuous stack, and books, magazines and food were in great supply at their home. Annie skied, lifted weights and golfed until she became ill in November of 2018. She was a beautiful soul that touched many lives, making this world a better place.
