Ann C. Tepoorten

Ann Cullen Tepoorten joined her Heavenly Father on July 8, 2023 at the age of 85. Ann was born in Rawlins, WY to John J. and Rogene Cullen, the sixth of seven children. Ann studied at Saint Mary’s College in Leavenworth, KS and went on to practice nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, CO. She married her beloved Harold Tepoorten on September 16, 1960.

In addition to raising her five children, Ann was like a mother to several others over the years, opening her home and her heart without hesitation. She deeply valued and regularly practiced her Catholic faith, and dedicated her time as a volunteer with the Missionaries of Charity. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, fishing, sewing, and ceramics, but nothing more than the time she spent laughing with her sisters.

Ann is survived by two loving sisters, Rogene Roberts and Joan Girard; her five children, Joe (Jamee) Tepoorten, Joanie (Jeff) Funderburk, David (Karen) Tepoorten, Matthew (James Kyte) Tepoorten, and Rogene (Mike) Westra; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, sister, and her devoted husband Harold.

A rosary and visitation will be held at Horan & McConaty (1091 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246) at 6:00 pm on July 13, 2023. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on July 14, 2023 at Risen Christ Catholic Parish (3060 S Monaco St Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222).
