Annabell Brown McBride, 86, of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Dallas, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Survived by her sister Ella Hodges; two daughters, Kathleen Sanders and Cynthia Lewis; and three grandchildren: Erin Sanders, Ethan Sanders and Jason Whitlow. Annabell was born January 6, 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was raised in Tennessee by her parents Thomas and Marjorie Brown. Attended high school in Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduated with a B.A. from University of Tennessee. At the end of WWII she worked in the lab at Oak Ridge Atomic Laboratory. Married W.F. ""Mac"" McBride and moved to Dallas, Texas where their daughters Kathy and Cindy were born. Obtained her Masters degree in education while her children attended grade school. Taught high school biology, advanced placement biology and chemistry in Dallas area high schools and became Chair of the Science Dept. Taught a ladies Sunday School class for many years at Lakeside Baptist Church. Volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum. Moved to Aurora 15 years ago to be close to her family. Services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Baptist Church, 18800 E. Iliff Ave., Aurora, CO 80013. Interment at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas, Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11:00 AM. Donations may be made in Annabell's name to Redeemer Baptist Church for a future planting in her memory.
