AnnaBelle Von Feldt
December 17, 1926-July 19, 2019
AnnaBelle VonFeldt passed away on Friday July 19, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. Despite her humble and fragile beginnings AnnaBelle proved throughout her life to be a resilient, tenacious, and formidable woman. AnnaBelleâs beginnings are shrouded in mystery. She was believed to be born on December 17, 1926 in Port Neches, Texas, those records are lost to history. She was one of seven children born to sharecroppers, Mortimer and Melina Saunders. In her youth she enjoyed playing softball and attending her schoolâs sports events. She was working as a car hop when she had a chance encounter on the road when a Navy sailor lent his help and fixed her car. He was instantly struck by her beauty but AnnaBelle was not initially won over. It was only when Al left his contact information for AnnaBelle with instructions to reach out to him, if interested, that she considered Al to be a man she might be willing to let court her. It was not long after that she knew Al would be her forever love and they married on May 6, 1944. After the war AnnaBelle and Al shared many adventures including running a diner and service station. They eventually settled in Denver, Colorado where they raised their nine children. AnnaBelle was proud to not only raise her children but had a career outside the house selling home interiors. Over the years AnnaBelle continued to watch over her family and share in their joys. To celebrate her 50th Wedding Anniversary with Al, she decided to convert to Catholicism and renew her vows at St. Francis de Sales in 1994. AnnaBelle and Al loved watching their 50 (25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren) grandchildren grow and thrive. It was their pride and joy to have their house full of the laughter and happiness of their family. Even through the unfortunate passing of Al in 2005, AnnaBelle again showed her formidable resiliency and gave her family 14 more wonderful years. Up until her last day, AnnaBelle never lost hope that she would bring her Brother Sonny Boy home to Texas from Pearl Harbor. Her advocacy to bring her brother home after all these years will be continued by all who survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Al, and son Edwin. She is survived by her children Gloria (Truman) Vierra, Barry (Wendie) VonFeldt, Lesley (Jack) Dunker, Michael (Kelly) VonFeldt, John (Anne) VonFeldt, Alfred VonFeldt Jr., Kamela (Brian) Ulricksen, Jeff (Kim) VonFeldt.
