Anne Louise Pyle, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on June 29th at the age of 75. Anne was born in Fort Wayne, IN on March 14, 1948 and grew up in a loving family being the oldest of three siblings. She attended Purdue and Indiana University studying psychology and drama where she was involved in theatrical performances. Throughout her life, Anne worked at various jobs and her last was as an insurance agent.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, working in the yard and being surrounded with beautiful flowers. Her passion was helping people by being actively involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Colorado), an organization close to her heart, where she helped lead a support group for families who had loved ones with mental illness. Anne believed in breaking down the stigmas surrounding mental health and providing support and resources to those in need. Her empathy and kindness were evident in her interactions with others, as she was always lending an ear and offering comfort to those who sought her guidance.
Beyond her passion, she had a genuine interest in the lives of her loved ones and friends. Anne’s presence would fill any room with warmth and joy and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though Anne has left us physically, her spirit is with us and her memory will live on in our hearts. Let us celebrate the beautiful life that she lived and honor her by spreading love, kindness and compassion, and carry on her passion by advocating for the causes that were so dear to her.
Anne is survived by her son Justin Pyle (Brenda) and granddaughter Madison of Grand Junction, CO; Her sister Lynn Schwab of Black Hawk, CO; her brother Dave Knipstein of Lakewood, CO; her niece Jeana Simpson (Andrew) of Littleton, CO; and nephew Dan Knipstein of Whidbey Island, WA.
A memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty on Thursday July 20th at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her life may make a donation in her name to namicolorado.org at 3333 S. Bannock St., Suite 430, Englewood, CO 80110.
