Annie Laurie Haley

December 24, 1924 — February 1, 2011

Annie L. Haley (Annie Laurie) of Littleton passed away on February 1, 2011 leaving her beloved husband Jack of 59 years, 6 children: Laura McNeil, Brian Haley and Sharon Haley of Littleton, Norine Goodwin and Patricia Miller of Fort Collins, and Kathleen Martinez of Austin, Texas; 10 grand children and 2 great-grand daughters. Annie Laurie's exuberance for life, love and family, and her brilliant smile was unmatched. Her honesty and integrity touched every aspect of her life, from real estate to the many civic duties she took on: PTA president, advocate for abused children, proponent for Clean Law Colorado, Republican precinct committee woman, and many others. She never took ""No"" for an answer, and always found a way to accomplish her goals. If you were related to her, you were a genius, beyond beautiful, and could walk on water. Annie Laurie loved fashion, and wore the latest styles, including flamboyant hats and the most uncomfortable looking, ankle-twisting shoes. Born Annie Loretta Breeden on December 24, 1924 in Malta, Montana, she was raised on ranches in Malta, Montana and Eugene, Oregon, graduated from St. Mary?s high school in Eugene, and attended San Francisco State College and University of Oregon. On June 20, 1951, she married John D. (Jack) Haley in Eugene, Oregon. She earned her Realtor, Broker, and GRI licenses from University of Colorado, Boulder. During WWII, she worked as a welder on aircraft carriers in the Hunters Point Shipyard of San Francisco. She was a flight attendant for United Airlines and a realtor for Midwest Realty and Mountain States Land and Cattle Company before forming her own brokerage in Littleton, Colorado. Her professional memberships included South Suburban Board of Realtors, Clipped Wings of United Airlines, and Society of Petroleum Engineers Wives Club, Sherwood Park Civic Association Newsletter Editor. She made friends wherever she went, and will be dearly missed. Contributions in Annie Laurie's memory may be made to the University of Colorado Foundation, Inc. Otolaryngology unit of University Hospital, P.O Box 17126, Denver, CO, 80217-9155; www.cufund.org.
