Anthony Ray Jackson

April 6, 1970 — August 15, 2004

Anthony Ray Jackson, as he was named by his parents, was born April 6, 1970 in Washington, DC. Throughout his adult life Anthony chose several A.K.A.s', one of them being 'Calgary Jackson' from his rodeo competitions. His friends referred to him as 'Tony'.

During his elementary school days, he always did wonderfully. His grades were excellent. He always applied himself in all that he did. He loved to read and listen to music.

Anthony attended Largo High School, Largo, Maryland. While in high school he was a member of the Honor Society, played the clarinet in the band, and was involved in many sports, such as cross-country and track relay teams. His high academic grades and participation in sports followed him through college.

Anthony was a man always eager to learn. He spent two years at Salisbury State University in Maryland, later transferring to the University of Northern Colorado where earned his Bachelors Degree in secondary education

Now, with all that he had learned he was ready to teach math and history to young minds. However, finding a job teaching high school was not waiting for him. Anthony held other jobs and finally secured a job at an Elementary school. He was happy when the job was offered because he loved Colorado and wanted to remain here. During his Elementary School career he also satisfied his love of sports by coaching high school cross-country.
Eventually, Anthony taught Middle School coming closer to reaching his goal of educating high school students.

He moved to several sections of Colorado, including Greeley, Lakewood and Green Mountain. Anthony was known for his impeccable neatness and organizational skills. Friends and family member would attest to this, because they would often find him cleaning and tiding up their homes on his occasional visits.

In 2004, cousins Janeen and Sharon both of Chicago spontaneously on different occasions stopped and visited Anthony (having not seen each other in several years). It was a great time of reminiscing and doing things that cousins do.

Isn't it very strange how fate works?

He had a close relationship with all his aunts and uncles, specifically with 'Auntie', Aunt Becky and Aunt Jay. He talked to them about things dear to his heart.' His uncles that he talked to from time to time were Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Mike (who are his fathers' brothers). They were always there to assist in anyway necessary. We cannot forget Uncle Lewis 'Lou' with his temperamental attitude, but also a man you could bring your troubles to for intense listening and thoughtful advice.

. All his uncles, aunts, cousins, second cousins, etc., are in shock at his passing and are praying that he is at last blessed and happy.

Most of all his brothers Steven, baby brother and Donald (D.J.) older brother will miss him tremendously. Although during their childhood years there may have been boyish conflicts, they have grown to know the meaning of family and of having a tender and loving brother.

We would like to thank Uncle Mike for making all the arrangements and accommodations to Denver and to all of our relatives and friends for their support during this difficult time.

Anthony knew the love we shared with him.

Love you always, Anthony
