Anthony Ponce, Jr., age 66, from Superior, Colorado passed away on March 20, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Tony Ponce and beloved nephew, Anthony Velasquez. Tony was born and raised in Ft. Morgan, Colorado on November 6, 1947. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was proud of his service to his country. Tony is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patti, and children Stephanie (Josh) Champoux and Chris Ponce. He also has two grandchildren, Kyleigh and E. J. Champoux. His twin sister Ramona (John) Humphrey lives in Georgia, and his sister Mary Mason and mother, Helen Ponce, reside in Ft. Morgan. Tony retired from IBM after 25 years, then worked for Frontier Airlines and retired with 5 years of service. He loved all sports, especially the Broncos and the CU Buffs, and spent many weekends cheering on his teams. In his spare time Tony enjoyed working on the cars, and finding projects around the house to keep him busy, even if it meant flying to Las Vegas to work on his son's house! Tony also enjoyed helping others. He could often be found lending a hand to friends, family and neighbors. He would have been thrilled to know his last gift was eye donation. Tony fought bravely and valiantly against his cancer, and was very appreciative of the help he received from the many caring professionals at the Denver Veterans Hospital and Avista Adventist Hospital. The Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Service at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.
