Anthony Clements Simones was a loving husband, devoted father and adoring grandfather. He passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2020 from a cardiac arrest at age 76.
Anthony was born July 17, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to Thomas and Clementine Simones. He was the eldest of 9 siblings and grew up in Denver. Anthony attended Mullen High School and Metropolitan State College. He served his country as a sergeant in the Vietnam War. In 1974, he met the love of his life, Lynette. Together they had 3 children: Michele, Michael and Thomas. Anthony and Lynette shared 45 wonderful years of love and matrimony.
Anthony was bestowed a sense of curiosity and wonder and took pleasure in being a lifelong learner. He had an innate mechanical aptitude and ingenuity that spanned his life. Those who knew him knew there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He had a passion for automobiles from an early age. He got his first driving citation while driving his younger brother to school in a 1944 Willys Jeep. He was 10 years old at the time and wearing his pajamas.
Anthony had a deep-rooted affection for the outdoors. He found solace in his natural surroundings and took great joy in making memories with his wife and children in the mountains and all places wild. Anthony had a physical strength matched by strength of spirit and kindness. He will always be remembered for his sunniness and his sense of caring and giving. More than anything, Anthony was a family man who was devoted to his wife, children and infant granddaughter for whom he modeled life lessons of hard work, integrity, self-sufficiency, and love.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife Lynette, his daughter Michele [Glenn], his sons Michael [Rebecca] and Thomas, his granddaughter Sophia, siblings James, Regina, Sharon, Lori, Ronald and Roger and many nieces and nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Clementine and his siblings Thomas and Shelia.
