Anthony TaCito

Anthony TaCito died suddenly of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on January 15, 2009. Born June 12, 1921 in Denver, Colorado to Joseph and Domenica TaCito. Anthony attended North High School and the University of Colorado. He was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces, serving his country as a medic during World War II. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was employed by the Denver Water Department, and he retired in 1989 as a Civil Engineer from Henningson, Durham and Richardson after 28 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vera Gatti Leiker. He is survived by his beloved wife, Madeleine; sister Irene Kushner; son Anthony TaCito (Susan) of Dallas, Texas; daughters Karen TaCito Gnaegy of Greenwood Village, Colorado and Connie TaCito of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; son-in-law Robert Leiker of San Diego, California; grandchildren Kimberly Leiker of San Diego, California, Antonio and Nicolaus Ortiz of Denver, Colorado, Alex Gnaegy of Greenwood Village, Colorado, and Sam and Sara Madeleine TaCito of Dallas, Texas. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard in Denver. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo Street in Denver. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 10:15 A.M. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area ""C."" Memorial Donations may be made in Anthony's name to Easter Seals of Colorado, 5755 West Alameda Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80226.
