Ara ""AraBeth"" Elizabeth Johnston

Ara Elizabeth ""AraBeth"" Johnston, 82, was welcomed into God's eternal presence on June 22, 2014. Ara was born on 3/16/1932 in Tallahassee, Florida to Annie Royal and Claud Andrews. She graduated Leon High School where she was a member of the Pierian Honor Society, a member of May Court, and was voted by her senior class as having the 'Best Personality'. Ara attended Florida State University and was president of the Chi Omega sorority. In 2005, she received the Denver Alumnae of Chi Omega Spirit Award. Ara graduated FSU with a B.S. in education and taught in Pensacola, Florida and at Vassar and Dartmouth elementary schools in Aurora for over 20 years. She was a member of the Assistance League of Denver, and her many passions included friends and family too numerous to list, gardening, tennis, her animals and playing bridge. Ara is survived by her sons Jeff (Nancy) and Will (Kathy), her daughters Beth (Gary) Springer and Jill (John) Kelly; and her sister Mary Margaret (Sam) Rogers. She was devoted to her grandchildren Shane, Kevin, Nick, Nathan, Rachel, Erica and Claire; and great granddaughter Kamryn. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and grandson Cory Alan Springer. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at 10:30AM at Horan and McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora (at S Parker Rd).
