Archie Dean Stevenson was Born January 10, 1936, in Hennepin Oklahoma, to Mother Arlie Alexander and Father Otis Stevenson.
Archie grew up in Garvin County, Oklahoma, where she Graduated from Douglass High School, May 1954. She received a scholarship from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and entered their Nutrition and Food Service Program with interest in Health Services. After two years at Bradley, she transferred to Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Nutrition and Institutional Management. June of 1958, Archie married her OSU sweetheart Lloyd Dudley Ransom and together, they moved to Los Angeles California where Archie had accepted a Dietetic Internship at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Mrs. Ransom’s first career employment was in 1960 as a Dietitian with the Los Angeles County Hospital. In 1967 Archie was employed as a Dietary Instructor by the Los Angeles County Schools System.
In 1970 Archie and Lloyd moved to Denver Colorado, with their now family of 3 children, Daughter Sheryl Ransom, Son Kenneth Ransom, and Youngest Daughter Andrea Ransom. Archie took a leave from her career to manage the family of 3 growing children. She resumed her career in 1976 and was employed by Fort Logan Mental Health Center as the Director of Dietary Services. Archie retired from Fort Logan in 1999. In 2010 Archie Celebrated her 50 YEAR Membership in the American Dietetic Association.
Grandchildren, the rest of the family, cooking, travel, Bible Study, Playing Bridge, reading, and her friends, became her focus.
Archie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Lloyd Ransom, her youngest daughter Andrea Jackson, her brother Roger Johnson, and son-in-law Dan Crockett.
She is survived by her children Sheryl Crockett, Kenny (Kate) Ransom, and Son-in-law Philip Jackson. Grandchildren: Jasson Crockett, Brittany Crockett, Brandon Crockett, Kendall Jackson, Randi Jackson, Jalyn Jackson, and Orlando Ransom. Brother Melvin Stevenson, and sisters, Melba Maloney, Lavon Maloney, and Renee Daniels.
