Ardelle was born and lived in St. Louis, MO before moving to Kansas City, MO, Bartlesville, OK and eventually to Denver, CO. A true member of “The Greatest Generation” she lived through the Great Depression and World War II, both experiences shaping her character and pragmatic approach to life.
She was an avid reader, excellent cook and an accomplished bridge player, playing with her community bridge group until she was 101 years old. She was also known for “happy hour” cocktail time, and had a special martini glass just for her.
With her late husband, Biill, she enjoyed square dancing and cruising. They went on 23 cruises in their lifetime and were named “longest married couple” several times.
She is survived by son Donald Yuchs, daughter Beverly Petry and grandchildren Neil, Katrina and Ryan. She will live in our hearts forever
Heartfelt thanks to all of the caregivers at Porter Hospice who filled the last weeks of Ardelle’s life with compassion and dignity.
Private family ceremony with internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Centura Porter Adventist Hospice in memory of Ardelle Yuchs.
